Farewell – Coming Friday 29^th April 2011, there  is planned  farewell for the outgoing students of class 8. We have been invited to be part of this. We shall be giving mementos  to outgoing students. As always, if anyone would like to sponsor this, please feel welcome

Plan for Next Academic Year – The summer camp has successfully concluded on 20^th April 2011. Classes for the next academic year is scheduled to start on 25^th May 2011. Between now and then, we have time to plan our activities for the next year

 

 New Request - The Head Teacher, Sheela Madam, has placed a request with us. She has requested us for school uniform for the next academic year (The Government does provide one pair uniform. From experience, its seen that this would not be enough)

We did provide uniform to all students during the academic year 2009-2010. Working out the requirements, for each child around Rs 320 would be needed (Rs 120 for stitching and Rs 200 for the uniform material). If you believe you can sponsor for one pair, two pair or any number of pairs for any number of children, then please let me know

Dr. A. P. J. Abdul Kalam Hall – The multi-purpose hall, for which work was in progress for the last one year, is almost complete (window work is pending). And this hall is named after our beloved Former President Dr. A. P. J. Abdul Kalam. The very first picture has this written in Kannada. Enjoy the below pics

Thanks to the contributions from many of you, we were able to contribute a good amount, towards this. Thank you once again

 

Summer camp – The summer camp which was kicked of last week, is enabling the students have good time learning and enjoying.  Yoga, drawing, painting, fun games are being taught. This is largely possible to the efforts of the Teachers. We are sponsoring snacks/refreshments whenever needed

Saktyavesh weekly update - 11th April 2011

Dear All,

Government Lower Primary School, Vibhuthipura, Bangalore

Summer camp: Classes for the academic 2010-2011 has ended. Starting today, for the next 10 days, summer camp with fun filled activities like games, drawing, painting and also yoga will be held (from  09:30am till 01:30pm). The Head Teacher and the volunteer Teachers (including the volunteer Teacher sponsored by us) are driving this camp

We shall be sponsoring refreshments – like biscuits, fruits – for this camp, to be given during the break @ 11:30am (there will not be mid day meal from Akshaya Patra, as this is not official). As always, if any one would like to contribute towards this, do let me know. The Head Teacher has welcomed us to be a part of this

Saktyavesh weekly update - 04 April 2011

Dear All,

After winning the 2011 Cricket World Cup, it was great to see people across different divides celebrating together and congratulating each other. If our patriotism and energy transcends Cricket and we are able to unite and work on pressing issues confronting our society, we will not just be a Cricket powerhouse but a Powerful Nation to be looked up to

As election date is nearing no exams before elections. Elections are on 13 of April. The final exams will be after 20^th of April and 30^th April will be last working day for this academic year

Coming Saturday, 9^th April is open for activities. Interested people can come fwd with some idea. They are going to face the Annual Exams keeping that in mind you are free to conduct any activities on these lines

Teachers Salary – The Teachers salary for the extra volunteer Teacher (Mrs. Rajeeshwari) that we are sponsoring has been given - thank you Ananth and Rajesh for partly sponsoring this contribution

Income Tax filing – We have filed our income tax last week – with the help of our chartered accountant Kurli Reddy & Co. We are working on having 80(G) and 12(A) so that all the donors can get tax exemption for the contributions. Shall update you as soon as we have them J
