  • On Saturday, 15th August 2009, our friends from Bangalore visited the School for the Independence day celebration starting 08:15am. Once the children assembled in front of the stage where a picture of Mahatma Gandhi was kept, the Head Teacher, Sheela Madam, shared with students the background behind Independence day. The Chief Guest for the function were Mr. L. Jayaram, a councilor and another person from the local area. Until the chief guest’s arrived the children has a chance to sing songs in praise of Mahatma Gandhi, patriotic songs etc…. The children were very excited at the opportunity of singing. Once the chief guest’s arrived lamps were lit and Tri Color unfurled. The chief guest’s delivered speeches, stressing on the importance of Unity among others.
