New Computer Lab – We had sent a Technician to repair the computers at the School. A few computers were formatted and OS reinstalled. The charge was Rs 500 (paid). Now all the 9 computers are up and running fine. Except 4 mouse’s are needed. If any of you have spare mouse and can donate, do let know
Toys & Puzzles donations - We visited the School on Saturday, 20th June 2009, along with a few toys, puzzles donated by a friend (Rahul Pant) and handed over the donations to the Head Teacher, Sheela. If there are any toys, puzzles, teaching aids which you would like to donate, please feel free to do so
ABL, New Teaching Methodology – Going forward, the first and the second classes at the Bangalore School shall be taught using a new methodology – ABL (Activity Based Learning). It’s an interactive form and there are no text books in this method. The Teachers have already undergone training to implement this training
Volunteers Needed – The Head Teacher has requested for volunteers who can teach at the School. Friends who are interested, kindly let know
Board Meeting
The fifth Board Meeting was held on 20th and 21st of June 2009 in Bangalore. The immediate priorities, ideas, the pending tasks (like website) upcoming important tasks (like filing of IT returns), The Roadmap’s by trustees were discussed. Importantly, how we take our organization forward was discussed. Once the Roadmap is finalized, it shall be shared with every one. Each one of being unique, we would like to hear from each of you as well, your thoughts and ideas on the short and long term, on how we should be function and what we should do and what we should not do, and how ultimately we achieve the vision of a truly positive social change by enriching Education and Healthcare. Meetings would be scheduled, at the convenience of the majority, so that each one of us has an opportunity to express their ideas and hear one another. In between, if there are any urgent ideas, requests or suggestions, please feel free to communicate
PAN card application submitted
Thanks to our friend Ashish, today, 22nd June 2009, we submitted application for PAN card. It cost us Rs 94. The acknowledgement number is 030410300037110. Ideally, we should be receiving our PAN card in another 20 days. We can track the status of our application using the 15 digit acknowledgement number on http://www.tin-nsdl.com/ or by using SMS facility – Type ‘PAN
