TV for National Primary school (Chennai)
Last Wednesday, 21 January 2009, we delivered a 21' Color TV to the National Primary School (Pallavaram), the School which we have partnered in Chennai
This shall hopefully have good, positive impact on the School, as the Children and Teachers can have access to high quality educational video content
Republic Day celebration (Bangalore)
The Head In Charge of the Goverment School, had invited us for the Republic Day Function on Januray 26, 2009. There was Flag hoisting and a speech by a retired educationist. Later there was chocolate distribution
Competitions at Bangalore and Chennai
We have planned to conduct competitions at Bangalore and Chennai Schools on 31 January 2009. Various out door competitions like, running race, frog race, lemon and spoon race and indoor games like drawing, paragraph writing, memory game have been planned. Suggestions and participation are most welcome. Kindly let us know in advance if anyone wants to be a part of this
Board Meeting
The quaterly Board Meeting for 2009 had to be postponed as one of our Board Members had to attend to a medical emergency situation. This is planned in the month of February

Our fourth board meeting is scheduled on 24 and 25 of Jan.
Bangalore:
We had a meeting on 17th January 2009 (Saturday morning). The following was the agenda
(1) Topics for upcoming Board Meeting (24 and 25 Jan)
(a) Website – (technical fine tuning, checking vision & mission statements, 'mail templates', discussion forum, website maintenance (new member addition, photo changes), etc…..
(b) Time table for every thing we do (board meetings, monthly meetings, school visits etc…..
(c) Regulations for events (taking children our, communication for monetary help etc……
(d) Roadmap/Activities at school
(e) Setting deadlines and meeting them
(2) School events
(3) Action items from the previous board meetings, conference calls
(4) Time table for local meetings- To be discussed in the upcomming board meeting.
(5) Bank account
Information here is, we had created a current bank account. Recently on speaking to one of my colleagues Father, we got to know that we can create a savings bank account. One important point here we shall get interest on our deposits if we are having savings account. So I went to the bank today to enquire if we can convert our current account to savings account. The answer is no. We have to create a new savings account

The TV that was requested by the school (National Primary School, Pavallavaram) has been ordered. The cost of this 21' ONIDA Color TV is Rs 6700.

We talked to the Head Teachers in Bangalore and Chennai for conducting activities in school. In Bangalore, the Head Teacher said that there are currently exams going on and after 20th of January 2009, we can do so. In Chennai, we have planned to conduct activities for Pongal J. The activities can be a competition or any event which involves the children and engages them constructively. Do let know if there are any thoughts/suggestion
We have got a request from the school in Chennai for a TV. The reason being there are cd's and a DVD player. Having a TV will help the students. Do we give a TV or a computer, this was a question raised by a few of our friends. Kindly let know your thoughts, with reasons

We would like to introduce few friends with whom we shall be working together on our shared vision going forward. We are happy to have among us Siva Kumar, Gangadharan, Saravanan and Prasad Patil. Siva Kumar, Gangadharan and Saravanan are from Chennai and Prasad Patil is from Pune. Thank you all and we are only happy to work together
Website Updated
Our website now stands updated with live links. Thanks greatly to the efforts of Anantha Krishnan, we were able to do this. We also tested the website against different browsers like Opera, Mozilla apart from Internet Explorer. In Mozilla, the link is a little distorted (it doesn't show up where it needs to). We are working on this also. Kindly check and it will be great to have constructive inputs. Don't hesitate to do regression, performance testing against any browsers and come up with suggestions

For the funding which we have applied with Business Objects, the update is that the first round for choosing the beneficiaries is done and we are not in the first list of 4 selected NGO's. There is another round of voting where a few more NGO's many be selected for their funding, let's hope for the best
