Last week, the students of the Government School & tent School in Bangalore went on a one day trip

Students from 3^rd, 4^th & 5^th standard and 5 Teachers were on this trip

The places covered were Devanahalli airport – visiting the birth place of Tippu Sultan, a fort and also seeing the new international airport,

Nandi Hills, Nandi village &  Muddenahalli, It is the birthplace of Bharat Ratna, Sir. M. Visweswaraih, one of the India's most accomplished Engineers

The snacks (bun, banana, biscuit pack ) for this trip amounting to Rs 1050, was covered by us

Govt Lower Primary School, Vibhuthipura, Bangalore:

 

                Cultural Competition: On 24^th November, there was a cultural competition between different Schools

More than 35 Schools participated. Happy to say that two children from the School that we are supporting won prizes

                                                                For clay modeling, first prize was won. For knowledge on scriptures, second prize was won

 

 

Belt & Tie requirement: Couple of friends came forward to donate the tie & belt for all the children of the School

                                                Thank you all. Shall proceed to procure and distribute

 

 

PS: we are looking to bring resource persons who can teach yoga for the students for personality development

Two years back this was done successfully. If there are any persons who can teach yoga, kindly suggest

Even if they charge, we can look to hire them and train the students

                    Cultural activity, songs, significance of childrens day, was organized

                     of weeks back we had distributed School uniforms

                    As a next step, the Teacher has requested for Tie and belt for the children

                    The cost per pair (Tie+Belt) would be approx Rs 46 (Tie – Rs 20; Belt – Rs 26)

Uniform Distribution:

The uniforms for the new students of Govt Lower Primary School, Vibhuthipura, for this year were distributed on Saturday

(03^rd November 2012). Post distribution, chocolates were given to all the students by one of our friend, Balajee & his family

Teachers Salary – The salary for the two volunteer Teachers that we are sponsoring at two Govt Schools in Bangalore

                                    Has been paid. Thank you friends for sincerely committing on this – we are not only giving a good

                                   Education for the students but also giving employment for two individuals J

 

                School Uniform – 55 pairs of school uniform sent for stitching is ready. The beneficiaries of this are the students of Vibhuthipura

Independence Day Celebrations:

 

è 15^th August 2012, Independence day celebration is planned at Government Lower Primary School, Vibhuthipura, L. B Shastri Nagar

Tent School (both Bangalore) and National Middle School, Pallavaram (Chennai)

 

      Flag hoisting, sweets distribution are planned at the Schools starting 08:30am. On behalf of the management of

      the School, I warmly invite you all

 

 

SPOC for National Middle School, Pallavaram, Chennai:

 

è Till now, one of our friend, Prakash, who was based out of Chennai, was acting as a SPOC for the activities/events.

     Coordinating with the Teachers & taking care of the requirements @ National Middle School. Now Prakash has moved to Bangalore

     and we are looking for one or two volunteers who can be a SPOC. Interested people, please let know and we

     would be more than happy to discuss further

Government Lower Primary School, Vibhuthipura, Bangalore

 

Uniform: For the current academic year 2012-13, there are approximately 60 new children who have joined

                   As usual, one regular uniform has been provided by the Government. To maintain hygiene, we had provided

                   Uniforms the previous academic years. For these new children also, the Teacher has requested us to

                   Provide the uniforms

 

     For a boy the total cost would come to Rs 260 approx for a pair (clothes + stitching charges)

     For a girl the total cost would come to Rs 350 approx for a pair (clothes + stitching charges)

    If anyone  would like to contribute, one or more uniform pairs, please let know

 Campaign for better enrollment: During this time of the academic year, like every time, the Staff

                        of the School are involved in attracting more students to join School. The Staff of the

                        School have been personally visiting the homes of prospective children – talking about

                        the facilities offered in the School, and encouraging them to attend School

 

An appeal-Used Dresses: If you/your known friends have a girl child at home and if there are dresses in

                        in sound condition and which are not being used, then kindly request you to  donate them

                        to us. There is a tent School, where there are Children's of daily wage earners who

                        need them

Government Lower Primary School, Vibhuthipura, Bangalore:

 

 New Academic Year: For the current academic year, the staff of the School have been encouraging the students

            From the nearby areas to attend School and get good Education for their future. For the

first standard, there are 32 students indicating a good strength. For 2nd, 3rd, 4th and 5th standards

there are 16, 16, 10 and 26 students respectively. The total strength of the School is now 100

                Fans:  Based on request of the staff of the School, we had purchased and donated 6 ceiling fans and 6 electronic

                           regulators to the School on 09^th June 2012, Saturday. We purchased Crompton Greaves which has 2 year

              warranty period. The total cost for this came to Rs 9427. Thank you Srikanth and his friends who contributed

                           majorly for this cause.

Dear All,

 

With the coming week, a new academic year begins. And the three Schools that we have been supporting

shall re-open taking in new students

 

The work that we have been doing at the three Schools– Government Lower Primary School, Vibhuthipura, Bangalore,

National Middle School, Pallavaram, Chennai, L. B. Shastri Nagar Tent School, Bangalore --

have been appreciated and we can see & feel the difference it has made

è From providing Books

è making the surroundings greener

è providing volunteer Teachers

è supporting activities and providing prizes

è providing T.V

è providing uniforms

è building a multi-purpose hall etc… all were well received. Financially alone, we spent Rs 3,42,420.75 (till the last month)

And all these directly went to serving the cause of Education at these three Schools

 

 All the Friends who supported this initiative either through voluntary, material or monetary support – A BIG Thank you

 We need your support and many more of them, in order to continue the work on Educational front

 

It's not easy to sustain the momentum, the initial euphoria & excitement has died down and its pure commitment

that will be seen and the result of our work, now and every time from now, will be directly proportional to the collective WILL.

Even if we are honestly able to bring a small change, bringing good Education to few hundreds, it will be worth the effort

To the rest of friends, I would say, lets continue on our journey. With a little bit of our effort (time/effort/money), we can
