We are on the look out for an independent auditor who can guide us in filling our income tax returns and advice on the do and don’ts on financial aspects. If there are any references, especially in Bangalore, kindly let us know

Bangalore – G. L. P. Vibhuthipura School
New Computer Lab – We had sent a Technician to repair the computers at the School. A few computers were formatted and OS reinstalled. The charge was Rs 500 (paid). Now all the 9 computers are up and running fine. Except 4 mouse’s are needed. If any of you have spare mouse and can donate, do let know
Toys & Puzzles donations - We visited the School on Saturday, 20th June 2009, along with a few toys, puzzles donated by a friend (Rahul Pant) and handed over the donations to the Head Teacher, Sheela. If there are any toys, puzzles, teaching aids which you would like to donate, please feel free to do so
ABL, New Teaching Methodology – Going forward, the first and the second classes at the Bangalore School shall be taught using a new methodology – ABL (Activity Based Learning). It’s an interactive form and there are no text books in this method. The Teachers have already undergone training to implement this training
Volunteers Needed – The Head Teacher has requested for volunteers who can teach at the School. Friends who are interested, kindly let know
Board Meeting
The fifth Board Meeting was held on 20th and 21st of June 2009 in Bangalore. The immediate priorities, ideas, the pending tasks (like website) upcoming important tasks (like filing of IT returns), The Roadmap’s by trustees were discussed. Importantly, how we take our organization forward was discussed. Once the Roadmap is finalized, it shall be shared with every one. Each one of being unique, we would like to hear from each of you as well, your thoughts and ideas on the short and long term, on how we should be function and what we should do and what we should not do, and how ultimately we achieve the vision of a truly positive social change by enriching Education and Healthcare. Meetings would be scheduled, at the convenience of the majority, so that each one of us has an opportunity to express their ideas and hear one another. In between, if there are any urgent ideas, requests or suggestions, please feel free to communicate
PAN card application submitted
Thanks to our friend Ashish, today, 22nd June 2009, we submitted application for PAN card. It cost us Rs 94. The acknowledgement number is 030410300037110. Ideally, we should be receiving our PAN card in another 20 days. We can track the status of our application using the 15 digit acknowledgement number on http://www.tin-nsdl.com/ or by using SMS facility – Type ‘PAN15 digit acknowledgement no’ and send it to 53050

Government Lower Primary School, Vibhuthipura – Bangalore
Sponsoring one Teacher at Bangalore School -> As per the earlier request of The Bangalore School Head Teacher, we had agreed to sponsor one additional School Teacher. Now a Teacher (Name: Rajeshwari) has been identified. She is having around 6 years of Teaching experience. We shall be paying her Rs 2000 every month for this academic year
School Uniform -> The issuing of one pair of School uniform, provided by the Government for the Children of the Bangalore School has started. Two weeks later, we shall access the number of students who shall be coming (to know the count) and then provide an additional pair of dress as requested by the School Head Teacher. It shall cost us approximately Rs 22,000
New Request – for a Servant -> The School Head Teacher has requested us to provide a servant for cleaning the School everyday. The cost for employing a person for this may cost around Rs 1000/- per month. Do share your thoughts/comments on this request

Chennai School Update
The Chennai School (National Primary School) is currently functioning in a rented building and the School building is not in a good condition. We had meeting with the correspondent of the school to discuss about the future plans of the School and about the improvement of the infrastructure of the School. First we gave introduction about our Trust and our activities. Then we discussed about the plans for the school. Finally we had a prayer and we closed the discussion.

Details of the discussion are given in question and answers format below
1. If the current Teachers retire, are they planning to recruit new Teachers?
Yes. After the retirement of the staffs they will recruit new staffs. As of now there is no vacancy 2. Merging this School with any other Government School. Have they thought some thing on these lines if they are unable to continue support?
No. They are keen on continuing the school as of now
3. Check if they are open to the idea of approaching all the prominent people in surrounding areas to get land and build a school building.
Yes. They are open to approach others to buy the land and building
4. The management can pay up to a maximum of 7k rent every month …… is the management ready to pay more rent if required?
Yes
5. What would be their plan if they are not able to arrange sufficient money to take a new building for rent … is there a backup plan?
We did not discuss about that because they were ready to take up the rent
6. What's the go forward plan of the management regarding this school?
As of now they are not in a position to work in the school
a. Relocation of the school from the current school
b. Then finding some donors to buy the land and as well as constructing the building
There is land near the school, which cost around 80 Lakhs. If we have donor to buy that land then we can start the work in the school
7. How equipped are they to carry this forward?
No funds with them. We need to find people (donors) to work forward
8. How flexible are they for working with us in taking the school forward?
We will have full support
9. What are their feedbacks and suggestions on working with us and the activities that we are doing?They are satisfied
