Saktyavesh weekly update - 27th February 2012

Dear All,

Government Lower Primary School, Vibhuthipura, Bangalore

Meeting with Officials – On 23rd Feb, students of our School along
with students from other Schools got to meet their elected
representatives. M.L.A, engineers and other officials were present.
The Children highlighted their issues – water problem, hygiene,
harassment etc. and the M.L.A replied. Find this report in the below
article http://www.deccanherald.com/content/229676/kids-take-lead-tell-palike.html

Reacting to the M.L.A also mentioned a few points –earlier there were
261 water bodies (lakes and ponds) in Bangalore – interlinked to one
another. Now many of them have been encroached. For example, earlier
the lake near our School would cover 43 acres, now it's just covers 22
acres. The drainage is just directed to the water bodies without any
treatment

Thank you

GOD Bless

Saktyavesh weekly update - 20 Feb 2012

Hi All,

Government Lower Primary School, Vibhuthipura, Bangalore

Need for a Servant/Aaya – The Head Teacher has requested donors to sponsor for an Servant/Aaya at the School on a monthly basis

Approximate amount for the salary for the Servant/Aaya would be approximately Rs 1000 per month

Why this need? – Based on an RTI filled by an RTI activist, it was known that the students were also involved

In cleaning the premises of the School. The RTI activist had appealed against this and complained to the

Concerned Education officers. While a request has been put forth to the Govt to sponsor for this, the

Teachers have now started involving themselves in cleaning School – which is eating into their time

Hence the request for an Servant/Aaya
