Christmas celebration: Christmas celebrations were held on 18^th December 2010 – during which dance, dramas, puppet shows were staged. Drama highlighting the birth of Jesus Christ was also enacted. We distributed 200 snack boxes for the children (each costing Rs 23)

Teacher's salary – the Teachers salary for the volunteer Teacher that we are sponsoring has been paid last week

Inter School competition – this Saturday, 11^th December 2010, 2 students took part in taluk level competition – one student for clay modelling and one for fancy dress. Both of them won third prizes. These pictures can be seen in the below link

Inter School competition - This Saturday, two students from the School shall participate at the Taluk level competition to be held at Kairali Nilayam School (in Vibhuthipura itslef). The Teacher has invited us for this event

Multi-purpose hall construction - We are raising funds for the multi-purpose hall construction which is almost complete. Windows and plumbing work is yet to be taken up as there is shortage of funds

We have now got a new friend among ourselves. Introducing Ms Shalini from chennai.

Children’s day - On 13 Nov Children's day was observed.  The teachers highlighted the significance of this day and encouraged them to follow on the footsteps of pundit Nehru. Few well performing students were selected to sit on the dais and roses were given to them. Sweets and cookies were distributed to all the children.

Hall construction details – The flooring for the multi-purpose hall is complete. Painting and window is the only work still pending. Seen below is the amount needed and for what purpose the amount is needed – this information was shared by the Head Teacher of the School, Sheela Madam. Construction update- We have committed an additional amount of Rs 25000 for the construction work.This amount will be used for purchasing and laying of floor Tiles. More amount is needed for the labour work. Kindly contribute generously.

Teachers Salary- For the additional teacher we are sponsoring, Rs 2000 has been given for this month.

Teachers day celebration- Last Saturday Teachers day was celebrated by felicitating and honoring Teachers and also volunteer Teacher.

Monthly Activity - On 28 August we had spoken English class for 6th, 7th and 8 th std. Spoken English class was taken by school Head master and few of our Volunteers. For 1st to 5th std wee have given Drawing practice. We have given practice for 3 pictures. Students used colour pencils, crayons and sketch pencils to color the drawings.

Saktyavesh weekly update - 16th August 2010

Dear All,

We introduce  Nandini T.V who will be working with us on societal development. Thank you for Joining us.

Government Lower Primary School, Vibhutipura, Bangalore.

Independence Day – Independence day was celebrated on August 15th. We participated in the celebration and distributed chocolates(worth Rs100) to all students and staffs.
Toys donation – last week we received five cartons of toys and play materials from Pantaloons. We distributed it to our school and also another school. Rs 400 was spent for the transportation.
Hall Construction - The roofing and electrical work has been done. Flooring and few more work is pending. Donations are needed for this work.

Saktyavesh weekly update - 2nd Aug 2010

Dear All,

National Middle School, Pallavaram, Chennai

Spoken English : On 31 th July, for classes 6th , 7th and 8th spoken English were taken by Aneesh and Pradeep. The session went for around 2 hrs. Staffs were very happy about the session.
Techniques of Drawing: Student from 1st std to 5th std were thought various techniques in drawing and exercise done in spry painting.
