• Meeting Invite – The last Parents & Teachers meeting for this academic year is planned on 07th April 2010. Head Teacher, Sheela Madam, has invited us for this meeting. If any of you would be able to make it, kindly let know
• The final exams for 3rd, 4th and 5th standard finished last week. Classes for the School is planned till 10th April 2010

• During the activity which was conducted on 20th March 2010, the total expenses incurred was Rs 1489

Board Meeting

• The first Board meeting for 2010 is planned on 03rd and 04th of April 2010 in Hyderabad. This would be a time to look at how we are functioning, what better we can do on our work, improving our working relationship with the Schools that we are partnering with, improving interaction among ourselves etc.. A meeting with all the friends who are based out of Hyderabad are also planned

• On 20th March 2010, Pandimurugan donated 8 Sketch pens boxes, 4 Scales, one note book and one duster to National Middle School, Chennai

• Saturday, 20th March 2010, we had our monthly activity at the School. We started 9:30 am. Three games were organized. The first game was Ball throw. In this the ball was thrown randomly and who ever first catches/touches the ball had to come to stage and perform from an already written chit. This was for an hour. The next was “Memory game”. 35 articles were kept on a table. A group of ten students were allowed to observe these for 5 mins and then they had to write without seeing what they seen. 32/35 was the highest score in this game. The last game was “Craft making” from papers. This was most favorite game for the Children. This brought out the talent in them. Students made house, frog, various types of caps, lotus flowers and many other doll from paper
• We also distributed prizes for children who secured first and second rank in the half early exam. Later we had a short meeting, discussing ways to improve the School, our participation and effectively coordinate for the development of the School. We also discussed the challenges that the School faced – one of them being no permanent infrastructure

Government Lower Primary School (Bangalore)

• The results of the Hindi exams which we sponsored have been published. All the 16 students who had taken up this exam have secured first class. Lets congratulate the students and staff
• The final exams for 3rd, 4th and 5th standard started today, 22nd March 2010. The exams shall end by this Friday, 26th March 2010. Classes for the current academic year will go on till 10th April 2010. From 11th April 2010 till 25th May 2010 there are summer vacations
• The last Parent Teachers Meeting for the current academic year is on 07th April 2010 (as per Government Order). During this meeting there would be a review of the year. The Head Teacher, Sheela, has invited us for this meeting

• For the sports day planned on 20th March 2010, the coming Saturday, a separate email communication has been sent to all friends listing the games that can be conducted. Feel encouraged to organize the games / come up with your own ideas apart from the ones listed

Bank account visibility

• We now have visibility on all the contributions which are being made to Saktyavesh account. This online provision was enabled last week after lots of visits to the bank. This is a major breakthrough and will help us confirm the status each of the contributions, now and in future

• Coming Saturday, 06th March 2010, we have our monthly activity. Request all interested friends to participate with time and ideas. Having the students engage in games and activities apart from the ones we did earlier, will interest and capture the attention of the students. Post activity we can have a quick feedback session
• The students has started using indoor games like carom and chess which we have given

Government Lower Primary School(Bangalore)

• For the request on construction of a multi-purpose hall - We met a real estate builder to know about implementation, cost etc.. after sharing the plan. He shall contact the engineer and get back within a week’s time. Next week, we plan to meet with Education department official to hear his views on the proposal and get his consent
• Teacher's salary for the month of February was paid on 23rd February 2010
