Saktyavesh weekly update - 13th July 2010

Dear All,

National Middle School, Pallavaram, Chennai

Teacher has requested us to give some training which will be useful to the students like spoken English, craft making, training in drawing. For this monthly activity, we have planned for spoken English training. If there are any others training ideas or if anyone is interested to take engage the students in basic training please come forward

Government Lower Primary School, Vibhuthipura, Bangalore

Couple of weeks back, a few officials from the Education department had been to the School to assess the students. Based on their feedback, the Head Teacher has asked us to engage the students and teach them basic skills. As a follow up, our friend Sujith had been to the School and the below is his feedback

This week (10/07/10), I had been to the school. I had taken class for the 5th STD students. I had taught them English, had gone thru their book, which contains certain picture, helped them in knowing the name of the pictures. Also had a game with English words, as, I started a word and they had to tell a new word with the last letter of that word which I have stated and it continued with the last letter of the word that they stated, then also taught them some name of animals, flowers and colors. Also gave them homework of finding out what the animals eat. I would also go this Saturday and do the same for whichever class is free

Only problem that I faced was language.... Luckily had a few students who
knew English, with them I could adjust the class
