19th May 2008

Over the last weekdays, we had been conveying our gratitude to people who had helped us with our journey so far. In one such communication, Ian, Chief Development Officer with Hope Foundation gave a reference website - www.karmayog.org. Looking into it there are loads of information which should help us going forward. Sharing this constructive information with you all.

Happy information - We are done with the domain name registrationJ. Thanks to Kalyan who helped us get the right contact.

We had a meeting on 18th May 2008, where there we had identified immediate action items. At the end we should agree that we had choices to choose from and, thought that we should put it to all.

The following are the topics on which we discussed

è Website As said we are done with domain name registration. Once the contents are up, we should have a good workable website. We are working on designs and there are designs which we have to choose from. We shall keep you updated on this

è Bank Vinay had been to the bank and he shall update us regarding that

è Roadmap for Saktyavesh Though we have a service model in place, it can be much bettered and the current process should be definitely refined. At present we have information which should be collated and refined

The Roadmap – short term goals/vision, long term goals/vision, do’s and don’ts, the processes that each of us believe will be helpful for the work we have taken up, business (service) model, creating a positive impact on the schools, partnerships with many individuals and organizations etc….. Any thing connected to our initiative and the ideas each of us have thought of – and send it to me (aneesh.kumar.r@sap.com), (only. And on June 23rd 2008, I shall collate and send it to you all with each of our thinking and road maps. The reason we thought to send to one person only is because, if one person finishes first and send to all of us, then the rest of us may be inclined to think on those lines and we may not dive deep into our thoughts and may not see what our mind and heart has to offer. Each person is beautifully unique and we will be positively amazed by what we have to offer

Do feel free to put across suggestions and inputs in this regard to me

è Motto

Regarding Motto – There was also a couple of responses. Here are the ones suggested

Indomitable Spirit

Empowerment through Education

Service and Smiles

Empowerment

Enriching communities

Enriching the communities we live in

Empowerment through education

Let’s make a better tomorrow

You would want to vote here or add on? If yes, feel free to do so with explanations. Again, do send in your comments to me only for the same reason mentioned above. Once decided we shall go with the majority and better choice

è Logo We did get some good designs among us. But we are looking for more. So send in your suggestions by 23rd June 2008

è Visits Last Friday 16th May 2008, we had an acquaintance of one government school teacher here in Bangalore. Initially we had got an appointment with her, but as she was sick, we shall be meeting her in the coming weeks.

      A Question:

The other school that we have currently identified (it is currently closed for summer vacations) and which we have initially taken up have asked for more assistance like more mats and one computer, and racks. Should we go ahead providing them more (like computers which is costly) or help another school which is in a much poorer state.

Do write back to me with your valuable feedback with reasons. It shall define the way we go ahead.

è Apart from the above topics, we had a few questioning popping up.

Q(1) There are website which have multilingual feature. For example http://www.un.org/. Do we need this option implemented in our website?

Q(2) Do we need a separate heading for contributions or can we have the contributions displayed in our finance section itself?

I have come up with the initial content of the website. Need more refinement there. Shall share in a weeks time once it’s satisfactory.

These are the information we wanted to share with you.

If there is any further information that can be shared in between us or there is any action that can be much bettered, kindly let know and feel free at that dear friends J

Do forward this mail to any interested individuals or organizations
